Klar ("Klar", "we", "us") is a German-learning web app published under the PrinceBloom brand at klar.princebloom.com. By using Klar, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. The service
Klar offers vocabulary practice, a contextual reader, a speech-shadowing trainer, grammar lessons, and a timed exam suite covering CEFR levels A1 to B2. Guest mode runs entirely in your browser and requires no account. Creating a free account lets you save your progress, streaks, and spaced-repetition state across devices.
2. Accounts
You may create an account with an email and password, or sign in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and are responsible for the username you choose.
3. Acceptable use
Use Klar for personal language learning. Do not:
- Attempt to disrupt, scrape at scale, or reverse engineer the service beyond what is needed for personal use;
- Use the service to submit abusive, illegal, or infringing content in free-text writing or speaking exercises;
- Attempt to access another user's account or data.
4. Your content
Writing and speaking exercises you complete (such as Schreiben and Sprechen answers) are processed in your browser for self-assessment and, if you are signed in, stored against your account so you can review your history. We do not claim ownership of anything you write or say while using Klar.
5. Learning content and licensing
Vocabulary, example sentences, and reading texts are drawn from openly licensed sources (Tatoeba, CC BY; Wiktionary via Kaikki, CC BY-SA) plus original material we wrote ourselves. Full attribution is listed in data/ATTRIBUTION.md in the project repository. We do not host copyrighted exam papers or books.
6. Free and future premium features
Klar is currently free to use. We may introduce optional premium features in the future (such as AI-assisted grading). If we do, the free features you already rely on will continue to work, and any paid tier will be clearly described before you pay for it.
7. No warranty
Klar is provided "as is." Self-assessment scores, speech-recognition feedback, and AI-assisted features (current or future) are study aids, not a substitute for an accredited exam result. We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Klar and its creators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
9. Termination
You may stop using Klar and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page.
11. Contact
